Movement System Evaluation
Movement System Evaluation
A comprehensive Movement System Evaluation starts with a thorough client intake questionnaire (background info, medical/injury history, training experience, health and performance goals etc.) and consultation to map out a plan of action. Second, depending on your goals (remember, I only measure what matters), I may conduct/gather baseline medical and anthropometric data (i.e. girth and body composition [skin-fold] measurements) before moving on to musculoskeletal assessments that look at fundamental qualities such as mobility, stability, motor control, muscle/joint function etc. Finally, we will look at some foundational and goal-specific movement competencies and capacities (i.e. strength, power, rate of force development, strength endurance, cardiovascular efficiency/capacity etc.) making sure we identify the most important targets for training (and/or treatment) in order to optimize the program design and exercise prescriptions.
